Fleet Space

Project

Fleet Space Technologies, a leading Australian space company with a mission to connect Earth, Moon, and Mars, is revolutionising the mineral exploration, defence, and space exploration sectors through its groundbreaking products and connectivity solutions.

Challenge

Fleet Space's operations required an ISO 7 cleanroom for satellite manufacturing and assembly, a thermal vacuum (TVAC) chamber room, and a dedicated 3D print room. The existing cleanroom at Beverly had served its purpose, but the move to a new facility meant more than relocating equipment. The new site needed controlled environments that could support expanded production, accommodate specialist machinery, and meet classification standards for satellite manufacturing.
The existing cleanroom also needed to be carefully decommissioned, transported, and reinstated at the new site, then extended to meet the increased scope. Coordinating the relocation without losing operational continuity added another layer of complexity.

Solution

Trotek worked with Fleet Space to determine the exact specification their new manufacturing environment needed to meet. This started with understanding the operational requirements for each room, the machinery being installed, and the classification standards governing production.
A key part of the scope was designing and constructing an independent structural support system for ductwork, mechanical services, and air handling equipment. The system needed to carry substantial loads while keeping the cleanroom envelope clean, accessible, and serviceable for ongoing maintenance.

Implementation

Trotek delivered the full build at the airport precinct, including the ISO 7 cleanroom, TVAC chamber room, and 3D print room. The existing cleanroom from Beverly was relocated and extended to suit the expanded layout.
The independent structural support system houses all ductwork and mechanical air handling equipment above the cleanroom, keeping the working environment below unobstructed. The result is a purpose-built facility with the controlled conditions, capacity, and serviceability to support Fleet Space’s growing satellite manufacturing program.
